Independent analysis
This trial offers randomized, procedure-specific feasibility evidence. Completion without conversion in this selected sample is not a system-wide success rate. Early comparisons cannot establish durable oncological or functional equivalence, and the precision of the success estimate matters as much as the absence of a statistically significant difference.
Study sample
42 patients; 21 per randomized group.
Measured outcomes
Procedures completed without conversion in 21/21 patients in each group. Median hospital stay was 7 versus 8 days (p=0.014). Postoperative complications: 4/21 versus 2/21. Operative measures, margins and early functional outcomes were also assessed.
Limitations
Small sample; three-month follow-up. The success-rate difference interval (−15.46% to +15.46%) does not establish conclusive equivalence at a 10% margin.
